Health
Medical facilities are available, but more limited than in the West. Emergency assistance is limited. While public hospitals and clinics provide free care, many visitors may choose to be treated by private doctors and hospitals. It is advisable to take out travel insurance to cover this. The island is malaria free.
Weather
Mauritius - The temperature on the coastal areas varies between 22°C in winter and 34°C in summer. The sea temperature varies between 22°C and 27°C. In the central part of the island, the maximum daytime temperature varies from about 19°C in August to about 26°C in February. The western and northern regions are warmer and relatively drier than the East and the South.
Sun burn
The sun is reasonably mild, but we recommend that all clients put on sun block above factor 30 and wear a hat when in the sun.
Safety
The Island is generally safe and all hotels have 24 hour security.

Mauritius cellular networks operate to the GSM 3G Quadriband. Internet and e-mail facilities are widely available and most hotels offer ADSL internet access.
